Dodge Intrepid

 Model of the car:Dodge Intrepid
General comments:If you're considering ANY of Dodge's products which sport the 2.7 litre V6 engine, please buy something else! I have a 1998 Intrepid with said engine needing a rebuild with only 92K miles on it, which by today's standards is NOT, I repeat NOT, considered high mileage. That was considered high mileage in the 70's and earlier when referring to engine durablility. This engine failed very rapidly (within a 3 month period). I have faithfully changed the the engine oil as prescribed by Dodge and always ensured the oil level was within acceptable limits between changes. Additionally, I've been paying attention as I've been out and about driving and have noticed a lot of 1998 and newer Dodge automobiles which use this particular engine blowing blue smoke out the tailpipes as the observed automobile accelerates from stoplights and intersections. I believe Dodge is in trouble with this one and I'm not sure they know it yet. I'm from this day forth strictly a Honda customer while my Intrepid sits in the driveway rotting as I pay a car payment and full coverage insurance on it for 3 more years. Wake up, Chrysler Corp! Cheers!
What things have gone wrong with the car:Engine, engine, engine.
