Dodge Intrepid

 Model of the car:Dodge Intrepid
General comments:Car was great when I first bought it. Two years later had to replace all door seals and weatherstrip clips, as well as air conditioning unit evaporator core. At the same time, I had to rplace the pads and rotors. Had to pay $736.00 that the extended warranty wouldn't cover. Less than six months later, at 56000 miles, I started having problems with the windshield wipers not working correctly, and the door locks not working correctly. They made an awful sound when they locked, and you couldn't unlock the drivers door with the key. The car was also starting to "knock", so I took it into the shop. They told me that there was "sludge build up", which caused my timing chain to loosen. The extended warranty would not cover this siting a lack of maintenance because I did not save all of my oil change receipts. They ended up replacing the timing chain, 2 tensioners, the guides, gears, and water pump for a grand total of $1300.00 that the warranty would not cover. After reading other reviews, I worry about the transmission going out as well. From here on out I will save every receipt that has to do with this, or any other vehicle. If you purchase an Intrepid, have your oil changed before 3000 miles and SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS!!! I will have second thoughts on purchasing another Dodge.
What things have gone wrong with the car:Air conditioning unit, brakes, and engine with it's oil "sludge". Blind spots are terrible, but you get used to them and learn to work around them.
